Tofu & Mix Vegetable Stir-Fry

Tofu Vegetables

  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (broccoli, bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, etc.), chopped
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

  1. Prepare Tofu:
    • Press the tofu to remove excess water. Cut it into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Stir-Fry Tofu:
    • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
    • Add tofu cubes and cook until all sides are golden brown. Remove tofu from the pan and set aside.
  3. Prepare Vegetables:
    • In the same pan, add a bit more oil if needed. Add minced garlic and grated ginger.
    • Stir in mixed vegetables and cook until they are tender-crisp. It’s great to keep them slightly crunchy.
  4. Combine Tofu and Vegetables:
    • Return the cooked tofu to the pan with the vegetables.
  5. Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil.
    • Pour the sauce over the tofu and vegetables. Stir to coat evenly.
  6. Thicken Sauce (Optional):
    • If you prefer a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with a bit of water to create a slurry. Stir it into the pan and cook until the sauce thickens.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    • Garnish the dish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
    • Serve the tofu and mixed vegetables over cooked rice or noodles.
  8. Enjoy:
